Abstract
This paper is aimed at investigating process of switching the alphabet of the Kazakh language from Cyrillic to Latin. In addition, the paper proposes analysis of historical experience about linguistic reformations in Turkic countries. The main part of the paper contains an analysis of public opinion based on survey among Kazakhstan citizens.
