Style directions in the architecture of palace-park and manored objects of Poltavshchina (Ukraine) of the XVIII — mid-XIX centuries
Abstract
В статье рассматриваются стилевые направления, которые были характерны для архитектуры дворцово-парковых объектов Полтавщины (Украина) в XVIII– середине XIX столетий. Существенное влияние на архитектурное решение исследуемых объектов имели господствующие стилевые тенденции в строительстве аналогичных комплексов в Российской империи и частично местные традиции украинского народного зодчества. Результатом такого влияния стало их стилистическое разнообразие: украинская народная архитектура, ранний классицизм, зрелый классицизм, поздний классицизм и народный романтизм.

The article examines the style directions that were characteristic of the architecture of the palace and park objects of the Poltava region in XVIIIth and mid-XIXth centuries. The dominant style trends in the construction of the similar complexes in the Russian Empire and partially local traditions of Ukrainian folk architecture had a significant impact on the stylistic solution of the objects under this study. Their stylistic diversity is the result of this influence. There are: Ukrainian folk architecture, early classicism, mature classicism, late classicism and folk romantism. This study was carried out on the basis of an analysis of existing archival materials and author’s field studies of the surviving palace and park objects.
