Abstract
An analysis of the experience of countries with a small open economy of the European
Union and Great Britain showed that despite the existence of a developed common policy
of the innovation system within the EU, there are peculiarities of the implementation of innovation
policy in each of the countries, which allows them to get more advantages (using
both supranational and national instruments).
