Abstract
The theory of industrial organization, which was formed in Western European and
American economic science, is the foundation of the study of the modern structure of China's
industry. In view of its importance for explaining the development of Chinese industry, the
author's point of view on the evolution of the theory and methodology of industrial organization
is presented.
