Abstract
The proceedings of international scientific conferences contain usually the most typical and valuable communications. Therefore, one of the approaches to the study of state and development of science field could be the bibliometric studies of these proceedings in accordance with the features of relevant science field. The bibliographic references in the proceedings of the fifth international conference on magnetic fluids have been investigated bibliometrically. The main characteristics to be studied were as following: mean number of references in ordered and initiative papers; distributions of references according to their 'age’ and the type of cited papers as well as six different characteristics of citation of single authors. The principal results of the study are: confirmation of high interdisciplinary level of science field ’magneto fluids’; averaged citation characteristics in high quality scientific papers obtained by the present author; list of authors cited most of all who are considered to have largest contribution to the development of the field.
