Analysis of methods for improving the service performance of wear-resistant components in mechanical engineering

Abstract

item.page.description-other

This paper addresses the economic and technical aspects of extending the service life of cast components operating under conditions of intensive friction and abrasive wear. A review of contemporary scientific approaches is presented, covering the improvement of properties in cast wear‑resistant alloys, the selection of heat treatment parameters, and the application of surface coatings. Special consideration is given to the innovative experience of leading industrial nations regarding the replacement of hard chrome plating and the implementation of technologies for the reconditioning of worn components, including the restoration of their working surfaces and dimensional accuracy.
