Abstract
In this article modernizing omnidirectional motor wheels by replacing radial flux brushless motors with axial flux designs is proposed. This approach reduces wheel mass and dimensions, shortens the magnetic path, and increases power density. As a result, mobile platforms gain faster acceleration, improved maneuverability, and higher energy efficiency. The study highlights limitations of radial constructions and shows how axial topology can significantly enhance robotic performance.
