Abstract
The work describes the features of determining optimal insolation conditions during the design and reconstruction of residential developments in Belarus and China. It examines the influence of geographical, climatic, and architectural factors on the solar illumination regime, as well as the graph-analytical method for calculating insolation duration. The approaches to balancing the positive and negative effects of insolation to create comfortable and energy-efficient urban spaces are also analyzed.
