Abstract
This project presents the design of a low-cost, portable 6-lead wearable ECG system for patient monitoring in High Dependency Units (HDUs). Using the AD8232 signal conditioning IC, ATmega328P for processing, and ESP8266 Wi-Fi module for wireless transmission, the system acquires six ECG leads (I, II, III, Avr, aVL, aVF) and displays real-time waveforms on a web-based dashboard. Simulated in Proteus and implemented on hardware, the system demonstrated reliable signal acquisition and wireless transmission despite issues like motion artifacts and short battery life. The project highlights the potential of open-source hardware for affordable, real-time cardiac monitoring.
