Abstract
Целью исследования является изучение исторических трансформаций планировки и застройки центра Полоцка, анализ факторов, определивших изменения, а также их влияния на формирование облика города. Проанализированы главные общественные пространства и значимые архитектурные объекты города с XIII в. до XXI в., их формирование, трансформация, современное состояние.

The purpose of the study is to study the historical transformations of the layout and building of the center of Polotsk, to analyze the factors that determined the changes, as well as their impact on the formation of the appearance of the city. The main public spaces and significant architectural objects of the city from the 13th century to the 21st century, their formation, transformation, and current state are analyzed.
