Abstract
This paper examines the use of closed quarries instead of new reservoirs for the construction of a pumped storage power station and considers various places for the construction of this facility on the territory of the Republic of Belarus. In the practical part, a number of calculations of various characteristics of pumped storage power plants were made, a calculator and a website on this topic were created.
