Abstract
Requirements for selection of materials for diffusion barriers of PVD-coatings are formulated. The problem of TiN coating using as barrier sublayers is studied in this paper. It was shown that TiN coatings from 2 to 4 mi-crometers of thickness has a dense structure and satisfactory adhesive strength as to base and to protective layer. But they content structural components with low nitrogen content.
