Architecture of the center of Gomel: spirit of the past and modernity
Abstract
Статья посвящена изучению особенностей формирования общественных пространств и архитектуры объектов Гомеля XVII - начала XX вв. Выявлены стилевые особенности объектов с учетом времени строительства. Анализируется формирование площадей Гомеля периода классицизма. На основании исследования установлено, что общественные пространства и культовая и дворцовая архитектура Гомеля формировались по принципам русского, а позднее советского градостроительства.

The article is devoted to the study of the features of the formation of public spaces and the architecture of objects in Gomel in the 17th - early 20th centuries. The stylistic features of the objects taking into account the construction time are revealed. The formation of the areas of Gomel during the period of classicism is analyzed. Based on the study, it was established that public spaces and religious and palace architecture of Gomel were formed according to the principles of Russian and later Soviet urban planning.
