Abstract
Политология впервые была введена в номенклатуру специальностей в 1988 г. В статье раскрывается специфика становления и развития отечественной политологии за прошедшие десятилетия. Отмечаются достижения и трудности на этом пути, обосновываются факторы, обусловившие слабую востребованность политологии в жизни государства и общества, недостаточный вклад политологии в формирование и укрепление политической системы демократического типа и развитие гражданского общества, следствием чего всё ощутимее становится разрыв между политической теорией и политической практикой.

Political science was first introduced in the nomenclature of specialties in 1988. The article reveals the specificity of formation and development of domestic political science during the past decades, there have been successes and challenges along the way, and substantiates the factors that led to weak the relevance of political science in the life of state and society, insufficient contribution to the formation and strengthening of political system of democratic type and the development of civil society and as a result becomes more and more apparent gap between political theory and political practice.
