Abstract

Developing in a global production network, mining enterprises are characterized by a distinctive technological tradition, which puts them in the epistemological framework of catching up development. This paper explores the phenomenon of catching up development, as well as some features and barriers to the technological modernization of mining enterprises in the context of a technological rearmament race. Digital platforms, research and business structures are considered as methods for increasing the competitive advantages of mining enterprises, taking into account the specifics of the mining industry and the considered conditions for catching up development.
