Abstract
Using of surface coatings opens up the possibility for a material design in which the specific properties are located where they are mostly needed. Today, advanced surface engineering has made it possible for thin film coated products. PVD method has been becoming popular due to its lower processing temperature. Different PVD-technologies has common structure formation processes which are discussed at this paper.
