Antic theme in Belarussian sacral architecture in epoch of classicism
Abstract
Cтатья посвящена изучению античных архитектурных тем Греции и Рима в сакральном зодчестве Беларуси конца XVIII – начала XIX в. Использование темы прямоугольной в плане святыни с портиком на главном фасаде и ротонды в католической и православной архитектуре Беларуси соотносится с деятельностью зодчих и заказчиков строительства, с основными идеями эпохи. Установлено, что распространение античных тем Греции и Рима в сакральной архитектуре Беларуси было обусловлено не только дидактическими идеями Просвещения и романтическими идеалами, но и масонскими идеями.

This article is about the antic theme spreading (Ancient Greece and Rome) in Catholic and Orthodox architecture of Belarus in the end of the XVIII –
beginning of the XIX cc. The utilization of the antic rectangular plan and rotunda plan (Panteon temple) in Belurussian Catholic and Orthodox churchs is examinate with the focus on the reasons, dynamic and features of this phenomenon. It is determined that side by side with the didactic function of architecture and romantic ideas in Enlightenment epoch there was ideology of Mason’s influence on sacral architecture of Belarus.
