In the manufacture of medical vials borosilicate glasses based on a problem that is connected with the hydrolytic stability of these glasses. The output corresponding to the requirements of the product does not exceed 12–15%. Attempts to control temperature and time molding bottles regimes have not led to an improvement in product quality. At the Department of Glass and Ceramics technology BSTU were examined reasons for the low quality of medical glass. The main reason for the low yield rate of products turned high content of boron oxide in the glass composition. To solve this problem, optimization of the chemical composition of the glass was carried out. The study was designed optimal composition comprising, by weight. %: SiO2 – 73,0; Al2O3 – 5,0; B2O3 – 7,0; ZnO – 2,0; BaO – 2,5; CaO – 1,5; Na2O – 8,0; K2O – 1,0. Chemical stability of the synthesized composition is as follows: water resistance – I hydrolytic class, alkali resistance – I class (loss of 36.57 mg/dm2).ru
