dc.description.abstractLaser-related spectroscopic properties of Ndx :La1-xAl2B3O9 (x = 0.03-0.06) crystals were determined. The room temperature absorption spectrum was measured in the spectral range of 400-1000 nm. Preliminary studies of the luminescence kinetics of this crystals demonstrate the absence of Nd3+ concentration quenching over the entire doping range investigated. This makes this material promising for the development of highly efficient laser gain media with a high concentration of active ions. Then, the LaAl2B3O9 crystals doped with Nd ions looks promising as a gain medium for compact diode-pumped lasers operating in the IR spectral range.ru
