The agricultural sector in Zimbabwe is dominated by smallholder farmers. They face severe water scarcity due to recurrent droughts and erratic rainfall. This mini-review focuses on the potential of combining together precision farming methods, integrated sensor networks, and artificial intelligence to try and combat these challenges. Monitoring parameters using sensors enables the collection of data in real-time for efficient irrigation. AI, on the other hand, supports predictive analytics and optimised resource usage. Precision farming goes on to enhance the efficient use of water. These technologies, if used together, provide sustainable and climate-resistant food systems in Zimbabwe.ru
