Doors with inscriptions in the belarusian architecture
Abstract
Мэтаю працы з’яўляецца вывучэнне традыцыі выкарыстання надпісаў у афармленні ўваходаў у архітэктуры Беларусі, пачынаючы з канца XVI cт. Разглядаюцца выкананыя рознымі спосабамі прыклады размяшчэння інскрыпцый на палатне або раме дзвярэй, партале ці непасрэдна над праёмам. Прыводзіцца пераклад надпісаў на беларускую мову.

The objective of this article is to present research of the historical practice of using inscriptions for decorating entrances in the architecture of Belarus since the 16th century. It considers such examples of texts, executed in different ways with the use of different materials and placed on the front side of door leaves, on door frames, on portals or above doorways. The article provides Belarusian translations of the most part of inscriptions.
